Welsh Slate Mining: Past and Present

Description

In 1894, a set of Welsh slate mining photographs were taken for a Government Commission on the slate industry. It was accompanied by additional photographs commissioned by Lechwedd Slate Mining portraying the dressing of the rock to produce slates. This book presents those images together with a short section on slate production.
